Connect your AI tools to GlobalBrain
Each tool you connect reads from and saves to the same brain, so what you tell one, the others know. Most tools connect by signing in: you give the tool GlobalBrain's address, sign in, and approve it. There's no key to copy. See a demo brain to get a feel for it first.
GlobalBrain's address
Every tool connects to this address. The guides below say where to put it.

Choose your tool
Claude
On the web, in the desktop app and on your phone. Connect once and it's on all of them.
Claude Code
In the desktop app's Code tab, and in your terminal.
ChatGPT and Codex
Personal plans and Business workspaces, set up on chatgpt.com in a browser; it then works in the ChatGPT desktop app and in Codex.
Other agents and apps
Any tool that speaks MCP: agents, automations and scripts.
Check it works
In any connected tool, ask “What's my GlobalBrain connection status?” It answers with your brain's name, the name this connection saves under, how many thoughts the brain holds, and the server it reached. Then ask it to save a thought, and look for it in GlobalBrain.
Using a key instead
Signing in is simplest. Use a key instead when:
- the tool can't sign in, as with most scripts, automations and agent frameworks;
- sign-in for AI tools isn't turned on for your GlobalBrain yet;
- your organisation doesn't allow connectors that sign in; or
- signing in keeps failing and you need the tool working now.
On the Connections page, choose the tool's card, then Use a key instead. Name the connection and create its key; the steps that follow have the key filled in. The key is shown only once. GlobalBrain keeps just a fingerprint of it, so if it's lost, revoke the connection and connect again. Keys and signed-in tools can be used side by side.
If something goes wrong
- On a phone, the tool says the connection is stale, or it never finishes connecting
- The link in the email opened in your phone's browser, outside the app. Connect again and type the code from the email on the sign-in page instead.
- “The bot check didn’t go through”
- Wait for the check above the button to show Success, then send again. If the page was open a long time, reload it first.
- “That code didn’t work”
- Use the code from the newest email; each new email replaces the last code. Codes last an hour.
- “This tool isn’t connected to a brain you can add to”
- Remove GlobalBrain from the tool, connect it again, and choose a brain on the approval page.
- Old GlobalBrain connections pile up on the Connections page
- Removing a connector in a tool doesn't tell GlobalBrain, and each time you add it again it signs in as a new connection. Disconnect the old ones under Signed-in tools.
- A tool reads from the wrong brain, or from two at once
- If you have more than one GlobalBrain connector on (a test one and your own, say), keep just one on, or name the one you mean in your request.
- ChatGPT says GlobalBrain is selected, but its tools aren’t available
- On a Business or Enterprise workspace, each person activates it once: Settings → Plugins → GlobalBrain → Activate, accept the warnings, then start a new chat.
- ChatGPT installs an old connector instead of the new one
- ChatGPT matches connectors by name. Give the new one a different name, such as GlobalBrain, then remove the old one once anything that used it has moved.
- The same request looks different in different apps
- That's expected. GlobalBrain sends every tool the same answer; each app decides how to show it.
